Why we introduce them

ROAM’s directors, Amanda Robinson and Rod Allan, each bring more than 25 years of experience from practices in Australia and the UK. They founded the studio in 2014 to pair strong design with disciplined delivery, so a project is not only well conceived but fully resolved, compliant and buildable.

Their homes are mostly renovations and extensions of older houses on tight inner-west sites. Little Maggie turned a single-fronted weatherboard cottage in Yarraville into a bright home that opens onto its garden, and Yarraville Lighthouse brought daylight into a house on a block around six metres wide. Little Maggie was featured by The Local Project, and Yarraville Lighthouse by Hunting for George.

The same rigour runs through their school work, which has won a Lysaght Design Award and an award from the Association for Learning Environments. For an owner, that means a team used to demanding briefs and careful delivery.

Chosen and introduced by the BuilderHQ team.
